Welcome to Anchortown: Navy Vets Sign Forward Evan Giannone

The Woodstock Navy Vets are pleased to continue the organization’s “Welcome to Anchortown” series with the signing of forward Evan Giannone for the 2026-27 season.

A 2009-born forward from Markham, Ontario, Giannone joins the Navy Vets after an outstanding season with the Ajax/Pickering Raiders AAA program, one of the premier organizations in the OMHA and a program that consistently develops high-end players.

Standing 5-foot-10, Giannone enjoyed a tremendous 2025-26 campaign, recording 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points in just 29 regular season games. His production placed him among the top offensive players on one of Ontario’s strongest AAA teams and highlighted the offensive talent he brings to the Navy Vets.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Evan and his family to the Navy Vets,” said Darren Young, General Manager of the Woodstock Navy Vets. “Evan is an incredibly intelligent offensive player. He’s a true playmaker who sees the ice exceptionally well, but he also has the ability to finish when the opportunity is there. What we really like is that he doesn’t sacrifice the defensive side of the game. He plays a complete 200-foot game, and that’s going to make him a very valuable player for our organization.”

Giannone’s vision, creativity, and hockey IQ allow him to consistently create offensive opportunities for both himself and his teammates. Combined with his commitment away from the puck, he possesses the type of complete skill set that translates well to the junior level.

The Woodstock Navy Vets are excited to welcome Evan and his family to Anchortown and look forward to seeing him continue his hockey journey in Anchortown.
