The Woodstock Navy Vets are pleased to continue the organization’s “Welcome to Anchortown” series with the signing of defenceman Robert Landry for the 2026-27 season.
A 2009-born, right-shot defenceman from Sudbury, Ontario, Landry joins the Navy Vets after an impressive season with the Sudbury Wolves U18 AAA program. A poised and intelligent blueliner, Robert brings a combination of skill, vision, and offensive creativity that makes him an exciting addition to the Navy Vets’ defence corps.
During the 2025-26 season, Landry recorded 9 goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 34 regular season games, showcasing his ability to generate offence from the back end. He also gained valuable junior experience at the end of the season, appearing in four playoff games with the Espanola Paper Kings of the NOJHL, where he contributed a goal and an assist.
“We’re excited to welcome Robert and his family to the Navy Vets,” said Darren Young, General Manager of the Woodstock Navy Vets. “Robert is a very intelligent defenceman who sees the ice exceptionally well. He moves the puck with confidence, creates offence from the back end, and has the hockey IQ to make an impact in every zone. We believe he has tremendous upside and we’re looking forward to helping him continue his development.”
Landry’s ability to move the puck efficiently and make plays under pressure allows him to consistently drive transition and create opportunities for his teammates. His vision, offensive instincts, and composure with the puck make him a dangerous playmaker, while his strong hockey sense enables him to make smart decisions in all situations.
The experience gained at both the U18 AAA and junior levels has helped prepare Landry for the next step in his hockey journey, and the Navy Vets are excited to see what he can accomplish in Woodstock.
The Woodstock Navy Vets are proud to welcome Robert and his family to Anchortown and look forward to seeing him continue his development in a Navy Vets uniform.
