The Woodstock Navy Vets are pleased to continue the organization’s “Welcome to Anchortown” series with the signing of defenceman Cole Joudrey for the 2026-27 season.
A 2009-born defenceman from Woodstock, Joudrey joins the Navy Vets after spending last season with the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U18 AAA program. Standing 6’0″, Cole brings a combination of size, skating ability, and poise that will make him an important addition to the Navy Vets’ blue line.
During the 2025-26 season, Joudrey recorded 15 points in 35 regular season games while establishing himself as a dependable defenceman capable of contributing in all areas of the game.
“We’re excited to welcome Cole and his family to the Navy Vets,” said Darren Young, General Manager of the Woodstock Navy Vets. “Cole is a very good skater who defends well, moves the puck efficiently, and has the ability to contribute offensively. He’s a player with a well-rounded game, and we believe he has a tremendous opportunity to continue developing in our program.”
Joudrey’s ability to make a strong first pass allows his team to transition quickly from the defensive zone to offence, while his skating enables him to play effectively in all three zones. Combined with his defensive reliability and offensive instincts, he brings the type of complete game the Navy Vets value on the back end.
Adding to the excitement is the opportunity to welcome another local player to the organization. As a Woodstock native, Joudrey will have the chance to continue his development while representing his hometown community.
